How the Program Works

The Housing Choice Voucher program provides rental assistance to eligible families, allowing you to find and lease a home in the private rental market. Dakota County CDA pays a portion of the rent directly to the landlord, and you pay the remainder.

  • Household income at or below 50% of Area Median Income
  • U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status
  • Pass criminal background screening
  • Good rental history
